According to the great sage Chungus, the universe is not expanding but is in fact contracting, like stuff eternally falling into a black hole, crushed smaller and smaller, with the shrinking observers therein perceiving the spaces between each other as expanding, as they in fact are slowly shrinking.

  * According to the ancient science of the Chungus, the universe is one infinite web of living energy. In every direction we see that web expanding forever. In every direction we see that web of energy shrinking forever.

  * According to Chungus, all forms are the same, and hence there is nothing to expand.

  * According to Chungus, everything is the same form, and hence there is no contraction.

  * According to Chungus, the infinite world is in flux, and is the process of becoming, and hence never the same, and hence forever expanding.

We are not able to perceive of the universe as it truly is, just as we are not able to perceive all that goes on inside a man who enters the unconscious. Thus, we think we see a body in the water, and yet the man remains in the water, he is not separate from the water. We are seeing only an effect, not the whole truth. The whole truth of what the universe is, is never revealed. It is an impossible situation.

  * According to Chungus, we can never know the whole truth of the universe, but we can realize the unreality of the self, and thus realize the whole truth of our nonseparate existence.

The whole universe including all of its parts is the same. It is never the same, and it never repeats, but expands and contracts infinitely. Our experience of things not repeating or eternally growing are due to the limitation of our awareness.

Note that the "Universe" should not be confused with "Univers", a popular font face similar to the one used on this page.

However, ironically, the great sage Chungus loved typography and would frequently mention,
"An entire universe can be found in the dot of an i in the font called Univers"
